Journal Policies
“Mirgorod: The Annual of the History & Epistemology of Contemporary Literary Studies” is a double-blind peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to advancing the scholarly discourse within the humanities.
It specifically targets researchers and academics engaged in the fields of epistemology and literature, providing a platform for rigorous analysis and discussion.

The Annual operates a double-anonymised peer-review system that safeguards
the identities of both Authors and Reviewers. This approach ensures that the identities
of Authors remain concealed from Reviewers, while the Reviewers’ identities are also kept confidential. However, the Editors are privy to the identities of both parties involved
in the review process.
All manuscripts submitted for review are assigned a handling editor responsible
for overseeing the peer review process and making the final decision regarding publication. Both Editors and Reviewers must abstain from handling manuscripts when there exists
a conflict of interest related to authorship or content. Editors are committed to minimising potential conflicts of interest in the assignment of other Editors and Reviewers.
During the peer-review phase, each manuscript is typically evaluated by two Reviewers.
It is important to note that the Annual does not accept reviewer suggestions from
the Authors. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the Reviewers’ comments
will not be made public alongside the published work.
The peer-review process generally takes up to eight weeks, although this may
vary depending on the availability of Reviewers and the nature of the manuscript.
Reviewers are requested to complete a referee form that includes general comments, recommendations for revisions, and a decision regarding publication, which may range from acceptance without alterations to rejection.

The Editors-in-Chief are responsible for managing submissions, overseeing
the peer-review process, communicating review outcomes to Authors, requesting revisions, making final decisions on which submissions are accepted for publication, performing copy-editing of accepted works, and coordinating the overall production of the Annual.
The Editors-in-Chief appoint members of the Editorial Board.
The Editorial Board is responsible for conducting blind peer reviews of submitted
articles, notes, and queries. The Editors-in-Chief and members of the Editorial Board appoint external Reviewers who are not members of the Editorial Board to ensure
the independence and integrity of the peer-review process.
Members of the Editorial Board and external Reviewers are scholars with
active interests in the epistemology of contemporary literary studies, literary theory,
or terminology, and possess a relevant publication history.

The Editors-in-Chief, members of the Editorial Board, and external Reviewers will take appropriate measures to identify potential research misconduct, including but not limited to plagiarism, misquotation, libel, and misrepresentation.
If the Editors-in-Chief, members of the Editorial Board, and external Reviewers are informed of any allegations concerning research misconduct, they will seek clarification from the involved Author.
The Annual is committed to publishing corrections, clarifications, retractions,
and apologies whenever deemed necessary.
The Annual does not accept manuscripts that have been generated by large language models or other generative artificial intelligence systems. By submitting a manuscript, Authors confirm that their work is original and has not been produced using such tools.
The Annual follows the principles set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics.
